Upperkut Gear was born in 2018 with an idea to reinvent men’s undergarments. My name is Rick Grant and like most men, I usually purchased my underwear from the box store. My underwear would last maybe 6 months, at best, before the washing machine got the best of them. They simply fell apart. I thought there has to be a better solution.

After extensive research, I settled on Modal fabric to create a line of underwear that would not only last forever (I wear-tested my first sample for 18 months) but be super comfortable, moisture wicking, odor controlling and would never lose it's shape. I created my first pair in December 2018. I fell in love with how they felt. It was as if I were wearing nothing!

What we created was an underwear that featured an enhancing pouch and an extra wide band designed to give men the best support of anything currently on the market. In fact a doctor, that bought a few pairs, told me I actually created underwear that are healthy for men, as they can help to prevent hernias.

I had no idea what would come next, but since day one, I’ve been restless. As a result, more life-changing products followed including underwear for women. I insisted through it all that our products must contain Modal fabric. I have kept that promise to a fact that now 90% of our products contain this wonderful fabric.

Through it all, I’ve obsessed over every detail, every stitch, every improvement, and every new possibility. I am proud to have birthed a company built on creating the most comfortable , the most eco-friendly, the most functional line of underwear and athletic gear for men and women.
